TabletopSG – Who We Are
A website run by gamers for gamers since 2019. We focus on the Singapore board game scene.
Our Mission
TabletopSG was born from a simple need – board gamers living in or visiting Singapore had nowhere to find reliable information about the local scene. Which shop has the best selection? Where does FNM take place? Which games work best in the Asian climate?
We have been answering these questions since 2019, drawing on our own table-top experience rather than manufacturer marketing material. Every review is the result of at least 3 play sessions with different groups.
Review Methodology
Before writing a review, we play the game at least 3 times in different configurations (different players, different player counts, different experience levels). We rate on a scale of 10 based on the following criteria:
- Mechanics (30%): Rule elegance, balance, system coherence
- Replayability (25%): Is it still exciting after 10 games?
- Social interaction (20%): What does the game do to the atmosphere at the table?
- Accessibility (15%): Ease of learning, time to teach rules to new players
- Value for money (10%): Price in Singapore vs. component quality
Editorial Independence
TabletopSG does not accept review copies from publishers. All titles reviewed are purchased with our own funds at Singapore shops or played at board game cafés. We do not run affiliate programmes. Our ratings are independent of the retail price and popularity of a title.
Editorial Expertise
Strategy Games
Euros and wargames are our speciality. From Twilight Imperium to simple Catan – we understand engine-building and resource management mechanics. Regular participants of strategy tournaments at PI-Games.
Collectible Cards
Magic: The Gathering since the Zendikar edition. Active players in the Singapore Commander community. We participated in Card Con 2025 and 2026 as players and observers of the collectibles market.
Cooperative Games
Pandemic Legacy (all seasons), Arkham Horror, Spirit Island. We understand the unique dynamics of cooperative games and what makes some build tension while others become boring after a few sessions.
Asian Scene
Tracking Asian game designers and titles that do not reach Europe. Contacts with Singapore shops and importers allow us to report on new releases faster than Western media.
